Our Projects

Since the EWB-UCB chapter was founded in 2009, we have envisioned a world in which the communities we serve have the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs.

Our club can apply to available domestic and international projects via EWB-USA's Volunteer Village Website.

The Peru Project aims to provide safe water sources for communities in Huata and Carancas affected by high levels of arsenic in groundwater wells. Engineering solutions range from arsenic filtration technologies to arsenic-free alternative water sources, to create a sustainable solution for the communities’ needs.

The goal of the Panama project was to design a system of potable water storage and distribution networks using existing tanks to provide efficient and effective water storage and distribution to the communities of San Francisco, Panama.

Nicaragua Sanitation Project

The Nicaragua Sanitation Program was focused on designing and building latrines for the community of Cuyali in the Madriz department of Nicaragua. The community reached out to EWB as their latrines--which were in use for longer than their intended lifespan--were breaking down, resulting in families sharing latrines.
